Foods That Bind Fats

There are four different types of dietary fats in our food – saturated, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated and trans fatty acids. While polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are considered good as they are good for the cholesterol and the heart, other two types are bad because they cause fatty deposits on the arteries which may lead to heart conditions. Also, eating too much fats can (and will) make us overweight.

If you have trouble sticking to a low-fat diet with plenty of exercise, you could help your body and block some of the fats you eat by taking fat binding supplements or simply eating foods that bind fat. Let’s see some of the foods that make the cut.

Apples And Other Fruits

Apples are high on fibre and pectin, both of which keep your body from absorbing all the fats you consume. If you eat one or two apples each day, you can block a considerable amount of fats. Other fruits that contain pectin and can block fats are bananas, pears, raspberries, grapefruits, apricots and oranges.

Soy Foods

If you can’t help consuming fats, include some soy foods in your diet to control the amount of dietary fats you digest. There is a lot of vitamins, fatty acids, lecithin and fiber in soybeans. Lecithin can help to break down stored fats and also block new fats from being absorbed and stored. See that you have some soy milk, soy sauce, soy flour, soybean seeds or tofu around when you are planning to have a big and fatty meal.

Nuts And Legumes

Beans and nuts are among the best fat blocking foods and they have so many other health benefits as well. Nuts have plenty of “good” fats in them to prevent heart conditions and protect your arteries. If you didn’t know before, these fats can actually help you lose some weight. Also, as we know fibres do block fat absorption and both nuts and legumes are high on fibre. The best choice would be to include some lentils, kidney beans, lima beans or baked beans in your meal and take a handful of nuts as your midday snack.

Whole Grains

Last but not least we have whole grains – a natural fat blocker. Whole grains also lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, cancer and heart disease. The fibre in these foods is good for your metabolism, it lowers cholesterol and keeps blood sugar under control.

There are some other foods that block fats but in smaller amounts. However, if you don’t feel like having to think about what you eat all the time, there are all natural dietary supplements that bind fats from your food and do it much more effectively than any fat blocking foods you can eat.

Proactol Plus is our recommended fat binder. It can block up to 27% of the fats which means your calorie consumption will go down as well. These pills come with a full 180 day money back guarantee, so you are not risking anything if you give it a go.
